Yoga Studio Furnishings
Mahon - Interiors
The architecture of the yoga studio is a response to the site as well as to the intentions of the clients and how they hoped to use the space. The strategy allows the structure, exterior surroundings, and the interior furnishings and finishes to act as the artwork. The goals of furnishing the space were to provide visual beauty as well as comfort and flexibility.

The colors, shapes, and textures of the furniture have a strong personality that celebrates design while blending with the unique modern architecture of the building as well as referencing the use of the space. Each item was selected with the clients’ sense of modern panache in mind. While the sofa and chairs add a sense of whimsy, they also exude a feeling of coziness - the sofa, envelops with it’s kidney shape. All of the furnishings are moveable to allow for flexibility of use within the studio.

The straight beeswax walls form blank canvases as “art” - the sunlight through the trees outside casts dappled shadows and the Artemide light fixture projects color auras that can be altered based on moods. The sea blue glass mosaic tiles in the bathroom add a
cool contrast that complements the warmth of the poplar shiplap.

The end result of the interiors harmonizes with the natural and handmade setting while it conveys the fun-loving spirit of the clients.
